Johnson & Johnson's orthopedic sales rise 2.1% in Q2: 6 notes

Johnson & Johnson on July 17 posted increases in its orthopedic revenue during the second quarter of 2024.

Six things to know:

1. Second quarter orthopedic sales were $2.3 billion, up 2.1% year-over-year. 

2. Hip sales in the second quarter were $417 million, a 4.9% year-over-year increase. Knee sales rose 8.4% with $394 million. 

3. Quarterly spine, sports and other sales were $743 million, and trauma sales were $759 million.

4. The company reported total sales of $22.4 billion, a 4.3% increase year-over-year.

5. Johnson and Johnson's net earnings in the second quarter were $4.7 billion, down from net earnings of $5.4 billion in the same period last year.

6. Operational sales for Johnson & Johnson MedTech grew 4.4%.
