Orthopedic

Smith+Nephew earned FDA 510(k) clearance for its Coriograph pre-planning software and modeling services, according to a Dec. 19 news release.

The software is exclusive to the Cori surgical robot and uses X-ray and CT scans for planning total hip replacements. It is built on more than 350,000 image-based hip and knee surgery plans.

The first cases using the software were completed by George Haidukewych, MD, at Orlando (Fla.) Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute.
