Several orthopedic management services organizations had a busy year with partnerships and leadership developments. Here are key developments from seven orthopedic MSOs in 2024:

Orthopedic Care Partners

Orthopedic Care Partners affiliated with Palm Beach Hand to Shoulder in Palm Beach, Fla.

Orthopedic Care Partners affiliated with The Orthopedic Partners in Park City, Utah.

Tim Corvino, MD, was named CEO of Orthopedic Care Partners.

Ed Tufaro, who was Rothman Orthopaedics' CEO, was named president and COO of Orthopedic Care Partners, the management services organization said Dec. 18.

Spire Orthopedic Partners

Spire Orthopedic added Providence-based Ortho Rhode Island and its affiliated ASC.

Ortho Lone Star

OrthoLoneStar is expanding Mend's perioperative nutrition and Upgraid precision care navigation after a 14-month pilot with the Carrell Clinic in Dallas.

U.S. Orthopaedic Partners

U.S. Orthopaedic Partners named Stephen Holtzclaw, MD, as its new CEO. Dr. Holtzclaw worked as CEO of Alteon Health, a physician-led acute care medical group, according to a Jan. 10 news release from USOP. He was also president of hospital-based services for TeamHealth. 

United Musculoskeletal Partners

United Musculoskeletal Partners named David McIntosh as CEO of its Georgia market.

Orthopaedic Solutions Management

Ravi Chari, MD, was named CEO of Orthopaedic Solutions Management.

Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company

Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center partnered with Healthcare Outcomes Performance Co. for orthopedic and spine care.

The Institute for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine will merge with Orthopedic Center of Florida. Both practices are part of HOPCo.

Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center partnered with Healthcare Outcomes Performance Co. for orthopedic and spine care. The hospital also partnered with Madison-based Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin, which is part of HOPCo.

HOPCo grew its advanced musculoskeletal population health program by 25% in Arizona with an additional payer. The move adds tens of thousands of new members to the program, which has lowered the total cost of orthopedic care and improved outcomes for patients.
