Ochsner orthopedic center breaks ground on expansion

Practice Management

Ochsner Lafayette (La.) General Medical Center has broken ground on an expansion that will convert Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Center into an orthopedic and sports medicine facility, according to an Aug. 29 report from The Acadiana Advocate.

The expansion will create the Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute in an effort to elevate orthopedic capabilities in the region.

The $19 million upgrade project will add a 17,200-square-foot enhancement to Ochsner's orthopedic facilities, along with a 14,000-square-foot expansion dedicated to physical therapy and sports medicine.

The expansion will include 17 exam rooms with two triage rooms, two radiology rooms and two treatment rooms.
