Bradenton, Fla.-based Coastal Orthopedics is the first practice in the area to offer Stryker's Mako robotic-arm assisted knee replacements, the practice said Dec. 8.
The Mako system allows surgeons to create a three-dimensional plan and perform surgery with a high-accuracy robotic arm. Mako Total Knee combines Stryker's robotic technology with its Triathlon Total Knee System, which enables surgeons to have a more predictable surgical experience.
"We are proud to be the first provider in a five-county region to offer this highly advanced robotic technology in our outpatient surgery center," Coastal Orthopedics CEO Paige LeMay said in the release.
