Iowa orthopedic surgeon agrees not to practice medicine following abuse allegations

Orthopedic

Iowa surgeon Lynn Lindaman, MD, an orthopedist at West Des Moines-based Lindaman Orthopaedics, has signed an agreement with the Iowa Board of Medicine not to practice until two counts of abuse are resolved in court, according to a July 5 report from CBS affiliate KCCI.

Dr. Lindaman voluntarily signed the agreement after being arrested last week for allegedly sexually abusing a minor.

In 1976, Dr. Lindaman was convicted for lascivious acts with a person under the age of 14, but he was offered a deferred judgment, which allowed him to practice medicine, according to the report.

Dr. Lindaman stopped seeing patients at his orthopedic practice on May 1 and remains booked in county jail.
