In October, Becker's reported on three orthopedic acquisitions of groups and medical buildings.
1. Centennial Spine and Pain bought an 8,300-square-foot medical office building and surgery center in Albuquerque, N.M. The spine practice is currently renovating the space and plans to open to patients in the next three to six months. The practice will employ 15 people, along with three or four full-time staff.
2. Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina acquired Matthews Surgery Center, also in Charlotte, from Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health. The ASC is focused on orthopedic surgery and pain management for adult and pediatric patients. It features two operating suites and one procedure room.
3. Physician Partners of America acquired M.I. Spine and Joint Care, a practice based in Prosper, Texas. The acquisition went into effect Oct. 16, and patients are now treated at Physician Partners of America's clinics throughout the state.
