Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital Milford Campus has unveiled a new post-surgical orthopedic care unit, according to a June 6 report from Fox affiliate WTIC.
The new unit was a commitment made by Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health when it acquired Bridgeport Hospital about five years ago.
Each new post-surgical room includes a tablet that enables patients to control lighting, temperature, the room's window blinds and their entertainment options, and will allow patients to communicate with their care team easily and be monitored remotely.
Yale New Haven also plans to hire more orthopedic surgeons to expand services in the area, according to the report.
