Here are 13 orthopedic center acquisitions, openings, expansions and partnerships in the South that Becker's has reported on since Aug. 24:
1. Atlanta-based Piedmont Orthopedics/OrthoAtlanta opened a new location in Evans, Ga., in the Piedmont August medical office building.
2. The Atlanta-based Northside Hospital network is expanding orthopedic and sports medicine care at its new Northside Medical Snellville location in Georgia.
3. Orthopedic Specialists of Southwest Florida is moving into a new, expanded facility in Fort Myers, Fla., that is almost twice the size of its existing headquarters.
4. Montecito Medical purchased a medical office property in Bartlett, Tenn., that houses OrthoSouth.
5. Piedmont Augusta (Ga.) partnered with OrthoAtlanta to open a new practice in the Atlanta area.
6. Nashville-based Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance broke ground on a new 28,000-square-foot facility in Clarksville, Tenn., that will replace its current site.
7. The Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine in Fort Myers, Fla., partnered with Orthopedic Center of Florida.
8. The Oxford (Miss.) City planning commission unanimously approved plans for Tupelo, Miss.-based Specialty Orthopedic Group's proposed medical center.
9. UT Health East Texas is building a two-story, 20,000-square-foot, $12 million orthopedic and sports medicine-focused facility in Tyler, Texas.
10. Durham, N.C.-based EmergeOrtho and Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina are teaming up to form HiVE of the Carolinas.
11. Orthopedic Care Partners affiliated with Erol Yoldas, MD, an orthopedic surgeon in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
12.Fayetteville, N.C.-based Cape Fear Valley Health opened Harnett Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
13. Orlando Health opened the first orthopedic hospital in the southeastern U.S. on Aug. 29.
