Keith Schroeder, MD, established Barrington Orthopedic Specialists in 1980. The practice has 16 physicians, and many of them participate in volunteer mission trips to serve patients who can't afford surgery.

It is the largest privately-owned orthopedic practice in New England, according to its website. The practice offers services including joint replacement, pediatric care, podiatry, pain management, sports medicine and arthroscopy.
Desert Institute for Spine Care (Phoenix)
Anthony Yeung, MD, founded the Squaw Peak Surgical Facility in 1998, and nine years later he and his son Christopher Yeung, MD, were joined by Justin Field, MD, to form the Desert Institute for Spine Care. Six orthopedic surgeons now operate out of DISC's five locations across Arizona. OrthoCarolina was founded in 1922. It is one of the largest orthopedic practices in the U.S., with 137 physicians on staff. The practice has more than 30 orthopedic locations and nine urgent care centers, according to its website. It also has five specialized clinics and more than 20 physical therapy centers. CEO Bruce Cohen, MD, was named president of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society in September 2020.
OrthoConnecticut (Danbury)
OrthoConnecticut has nine locations and sees more than 36,000 patients each year. The practice added a third spine surgeon in August.
The Orthopaedic and Spine Center of Southern Colorado (Colorado Springs)
