Thomas Mroz, MD, is the institute chair for Cleveland Clinic's Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Institute as well as the director of the Center for Spine Health and director of spine research at Cleveland Clinic. He was appointed in 2004.

He earned his bachelor's degree in 1993 from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and later graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1997.
Dr. Mroz completed his residency in 2002 at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
He completed two spinal fellowships, both in 2003, at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and the University of California, Los Angeles.
He serves as deputy editor for both The Spine Journal and Global Spine Journal.
