The first person to receive a Neuralink implant has recovered and is operating a computer mouse using only their mind, CNN reported Feb. 20.
The update comes almost a month after the first human case was reported. The brain chip is designed to help people with spinal cord injuries.
"Progress is good, [and the] patient seems to have made a full recovery … and is able to control the mouse, move the mouse around the screen just by thinking," Elon Musk, owner of Neuralink, said in an X Spaces event.
The implant got FDA approval for human trials in May, and recruitment for human trials began in September.
