Ozark, Mo.-based Mercy Orthopedic Hospital has added a Velys robotic system for knee replacements, according to a Jan. 2 report from KY3.

Currently, the Mercy surgery staff performs 3,000 joint replacements a year. The Velys system will aid in the layout and positioning of knee replacements.

It will allow surgeons to operate on patients with more accuracy. Mercy has also entered into a partnership with Velys' creator, Johnson & Johnson, to track outcomes and patient experience.
