Robotics

New Hartford-based Central New York Brain and Spine Neurosurgery has added an Excelsius GPS robot for spine surgery in partnership with Rome (N.Y.) Health, according to an Oct. 25 report from NBC affiliate WKTV.

Nicolas Qandah, DO, director of neurosurgery at Rome Health and founder of CNY Brain and Spine, will be using the robot to perform the first robotic spine surgeries in upstate New York, according to the report.

The Excelsius GPS system allows for more accurate minimally invasive advanced spine procedures that result in better outcomes for patients.
