Robert Burke, MD, has completed his 1,000th procedure using OrthAlign's technology for total hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Burke, founder of Pearland, Texas-based Dr. Burke Orthopedics, was the first surgeon in the Houston area to use OrthAlign's HipAlign and Lantern navigation systems for total joint replacements.
The systems provide surgeons with intraoperative information in total hip and total knee replacements to deliver accurate, patient-specific care, according to a Sept. 12 news release from OrthAlign.
The device is designed to improve procedural accuracy and reduce operating room times without the large investment, equipment and preoperative imaging required by many robotic systems.
