RI.Insights, designed by Smith+Nephew, enables orthopedic surgeons to benchmark robotic surgical experiences with other users to improve preoperative planning and patient reported outcome measures.
The analytics platform, part of the company's Real Intelligence portfolio, collects intra- and postoperative data during robotic surgeries, which is then presented alongside postoperative outcomes.
RI.Insights is the first system to let surgeons review complex robotics surgical data for individual patients and benchmark it against their peers, Smith+Nephew said in a Dec. 8 news release.
"With RI.Insights, we can streamline robotics surgery with proven accuracy, where the data I collect as a surgeon can drive my surgical decisions before making a bone cut," said Jimmy Chow, MD, of Phoenix-based Orthopedic Institute of the West. "The outcomes data collected after the surgery provides a feedback loop that can validate those surgical decisions, allowing us to further refine our surgical goals."
RI.Insights is available on a limited basis. A full commercial launch is planned for 2021.
