Hillsboro, Ohio-based Highland District Hospital acquired Smith+Nephew's CORI Surgical System.
The robotics-assisted solution complements the hospital's updated surgical suites. It is designed to improve implant precision in total knee replacement surgeries.
The CORI system creates customized 3D models of the patient's knee to guide implant placement.
"This system is the first step in the launch of robotics-assisted surgeries at Highland District Hospital and meets the needs of our patients, who are not only asking for more accessible, quality care, but are seeking innovative technologies to assist in their care," President and CEO Randal Lennartz said in a prepared statement published by The Highland County Press.
