The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock is reportedly the first hospital in the state to purchase an ExcelsiusGPS robotic system for spine surgery, reports NBC affiliate KARK.
Designed by Globus Medical, ExcelsiusGPS enables spine surgeons to preoperatively plan procedures and use the robot to assist them intraoperatively.
ExcelsiusGPS improves the safety and accuracy of spine surgeries and offers real-time images of patients' anatomies.
The device aims to streamline surgical workflow and reduce radiation exposure for the surgeon and OR staff.
