Post Falls, Idaho-based Northwest Specialty Hospital has made a number of investments in spine care technology since being identified by Dexur as a top-rated spine surgery hospital, The Neighbor reports.
Five things to know:
1. The hospital has invested in the Xenex LightStrike Robot, Globus Medical's ExcelsiusGPS Robotic Navigation platform, and most recently, Synaptive Medical's Modus V.
2. The Xenex LightStrike Robot is a disinfection system designed to kill pathogens in surgical suites using xenon bulbs and ultraviolet light.
3. Northwest Specialty Hospital uses the ExcelsiusGPS platform for precise trajectory alignment in spine surgery. Globus Medical recognized the hospital with an ExcelsiusGPS Premier Centers distinction. As an ExcelsiusGPS Premier Center, the hospital also invites spine surgeons from across the U.S. to observe its surgeons using the navigation platform.
4. Using the Modus V — a robotic digital microscope — Northwest Specialty Hospital can leverage precise robotic positioning and clear digital and video processing capabilities.
5. CEO Rick Rasmussen told The Neighbor that the investments reflect Northwest Specialty Hospital's "commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to our patients."
