Touchstone Orthopaedics at Geneva, Neb.-based Fillmore County Hospital installed Stryker's Mako System to assist surgeons during partial and total joint replacement procedures, reports Nebraska TV.
Three things to know:
1. The Mako robotic arm assists surgeons with proper implant placement and guards against soft tissue and ligament damage.
2. It develops a CT scan of the diseased hip or knee to create a 3D anatomic model.
3. Fillmore County Hospital is a county-owned 20-bed critical access hospital, which opened in March 2012.
