Boston Red Sox pitcher Liam Hendriks is likely facing the end of his 2024 season following a second treatment by Keith Meister, MD, according to a Sept. 13 report from News Center Maine.
In August 2023, Dr. Meister performed Tommy John surgery on Mr. Hendriks, ending his season. He was expected to undergo 12 to 14 months of recovery time.
On Sept. 12, before the Sox series opener at the New York Yankees, Mr. Hendriks complained of soreness on the outside of his forearm that was connected with the surgery.
Texas Rangers team physician Dr. Meister will review scans for Mr. Hendriks. Once Dr. Meister reviews the MRI, the team will have a better idea of the remainder of Mr. Hendriks' season.
