Christopher Kaeding, MD, stepped into the role of president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the organization said July 14.
Dr. Kaeding succeeds Dean Taylor, MD, according to a news release. Dr. Kaeding was previously vice president and president-elect of the organization.
He is a professor at the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus and serves as director of its sports medicine center and is chief of the sports medicine division in OSU's orthopedic department.
"It has been my highest honor and I am quite humbled to assume the role of president of AOSSM, an organization whose mission, membership and leadership I’ve always viewed with the utmost respect and admiration," Dr. Kaeding said in the release. "I will do all that I can to be the best steward of the Society’s resources, as well as enhance its leadership in the orthopedic sports medicine arena through strategic alliances and exceptional educational programs."
