Ballad Health and East Tennessee State University, both based in Johnson City, have announced a new sports medicine partnership, according to a June 13 report from WJHL.
The partnership will create Highlands Sports Medicine, which will be a member of ETSU Health. ETSU's current BucSports Medicine clinic will be added to Ballad’s network of sports medicine care facilities.
Ballad currently operates sports medicine practices in Johnson City and Big Stone Gap, Tenn.
BucSports Medicine's clinicians will remain in their current positions as the clinic joins Ballad’s network and will still be considered ETSU faculty.
Through the partnership, the two systems hope to expand and enhance services in the area. Ballad and ETSU are also working to recruit more physicians to continue expanding, according to the report.
