New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery has extended its care partnership with WNBA team New York Liberty, according to a May 13 report from YES.
HSS has been the official care partner of the team for 19 seasons, and the extension will add five more years to the partnership, according to the report.
HSS-based physicians will continue to provide in-house orthopedic and primary player care for Liberty players. Benedict Nwachukwu, MD, a sports medicine surgeon at HSS, serves as Liberty's head team physician.
HSS is the longest-standing corporate partner of the New York Liberty, one of three original WNBA franchises.
