Physicians who specialize in orthopedic surgery have the opportunity to earn more than $400,000 annually in 10 metropolitan areas of the U.S., according to data from the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics employment survey, which was published April 3.
The average salary for all U.S. orthopedic surgeons is $378,250, but in some metropolitan areas, specialists can earn up to $561,850.
