Ronald Navarro, MD, was appointed to the American Association of Latino Orthopaedic Surgeons board of directors.
Dr. Navarro was formally appointed Feb. 13, he said in a March 13 email to Becker's. He is a shoulder and sports medicine specialist at Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and works out of South Bay Medical Center in Harbor City, Calif.
"Being selected by the AALOS is a great honor, and I know it will be a labor of love as we honor our founders like Ramon Jimenez and ready the organization for what is sure to be a wave of young Latinx orthopedic surgeons with a renewed spirit and amplified organizational structure that is able to continue to improve the quality and accessibility of musculoskeletal health care for the Hispanic population in the U.S.," he said.
