Over two weeks since first crashing, computer systems are still down at Vancouver, Wash.-based Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery, according to a Feb. 20 report from The Columbian.
The system's external computer systems were first disrupted Feb. 5, leaving patients unable to call the practice, schedule future appointments or access online portals.
"Our investigation into the disruption to certain computer systems remains ongoing, though we have made significant progress in restoring operations since Monday (Feb. 5). We assure you that the privacy and security of our patients’ information is of utmost importance to us, and determining whether there was any impact to patient data is a top priority. Please rest assured that we are taking all necessary steps to identify the scope of the disruption and will notify any patients whose information may be impacted by this event," Rebound said in a website notice, posted Feb. 20, according to The Columbian.
The practice has yet to confirm whether the outage is a result of a cyberattack and did not return The Columbian's request for comment.
Rebound has 11 locations across Southwest Washington and Portland and has served patients in the region for more than 50 years.
