Below is a list of 10 sports medicine leaders who have made a positive impact on their organizations and have their sights set on future growth.

Adam Chrusch, MD. Rothman Orthopaedic Institute (Philadelphia). Dr. Chrusch is a sports medicine physician at Rothman Orthopaedics. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Chrusch is trained in ultrasound guided procedures. 

Adam Kouyoumjian, DO. OrthoTexas (Carrollton). Dr. Kouyoumjian is an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoTexas. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Kouyoumjian also serves as an official examiner for the orthopedic board certification exam through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. 

Aman Dhawan, MD. PennState Health (Hershey, Pa.). Dr. Dhawan is an orthopedic sports medicine specialist at PennState Health. He is also an associate professor in the department of orthopedics and rehabilitation at Penn State University College of Medicine. Dr. Dhawan served as an active duty officer in the U.S. Army for 11 years. 

Albert Gee, MD. University of Washington Medical Center (Seattle). Dr. Gee is an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Washington Medical Center. He also serves as chief of orthopedics and sports medicine. Dr. Gee is also a team physician for the university's athletic programs. 

Alejandro Garcia, MD. Ascension Medical Group (St. Louis). Dr. Garcia is a sports medicine physician at Ascension Medical Group. He specializes in non-operative medical treatment of joint and back pain. Dr. Garcia has a special interest in injury prevention counseling. 

Andrew Getzin, MD. Cayuga Medical Center (Ithaca, N.Y.). Dr. Getzin has practiced sports medicine at Cayuga Medical Center since 1999. He is an expert in athlete shortness of breath and the director of the Ithaca College/Cayuga Medical Center ultrasound diagnosis and injection course. Dr. Getzin also serves as the head team physician of USA Triathlon and Ithaca College athletics. 

Ahmed Elghawy, DO. Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Elghawy is a physician of the Orthopedic and Rheumatologic Institute at Cleveland Clinic. He is triple-board-certified in rheumatology, sports medicine and internal medicine. Dr. Elghawy has special interests in treating systemic rheumatic disease, rehabilitating athletes with sports-related injuries and performing musculoskeletal ultrasound-guided procedures.

Ann Laidlaw, MD. Michigan Medicine (Ann Arbor). Dr. Laidlaw is a clinical assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Michigan. She provides neuromuscular and musculoskeletal education in the university's residency program. Dr. Laidlaw specializes in musculoskeletal medicine including sports and performing arts medicine, post-polio syndrome and electrodiagnostic medicine.  

Robert Albers, DO. Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit). Dr. Albers has been a practicing sports medicine physician of Henry Ford Hospital since 2018. He specializes in both sports and family medicine. Dr. Albers also serves as a co-medical director for the Detroit Marathon. 

Laura Alberton, MD. Scripps Green Hospital (La Jolla, Calif.). Dr. Alberton is a sports orthopedic surgeon at Scripps Green Hospital. She specializes in sports-related injuries of the knee and shoulder. Dr. Alberton is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
