Orthopedic

The Los Angeles, Calif.-based Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute has launched a new youth sports medicine program, according to a Jan. 3 press release sent to Becker's.

Sports medicine and pediatric physicians at Cedars-Sinai will work with young athletes to educate on injury prevention, physical therapy and pain management.

Physician services will include fracture management, female athlete care, pain management consultations and more.

"With the increasing numbers of kids and teens participating in year-round, organized sports and activities, sport-related injuries are on the rise," Bert Mandelbaum, MD, orthopedic surgeon at the Kerlan-Jobe Institute, said in the release. "We are excited to partner with parents, schools and coaches to provide a comprehensive youth sports medicine program designed to deliver major league care for our youth athletes so they can remain on the field and off the sidelines."
