Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based NSPC Brain & Spine Surgery began using a mobile service to help patients with an acute or chronic spine condition, Long Island Press reported Feb. 7.
The mobile service is housed in a 26-foot van and is equipped to visit worksites, public offices and other locations in the region. On its first day on the road, the two neurosurgeons saw patients at Islip Town Hall.
"The launch of NSPC Mobile was driven, in part, to accommodate patients who might be reluctant to visit a medical office because of COVID-19 concerns," the practice's president, William Sonstein, MD, said in the report.
