Centinel Spine debuts new cervical disc implant in the US

Spine

Centinel Spine has completed the first U.S. implantation of its Prodisc C Nova cervical total disc replacement product, the fourth design addition to its Prodisc line.

In July 2022, the FDA earned approval for the new Prodisc C Nova, according to an Oct. 31 news release.

This is Centinel's third new cervical TDR product released since late 2022. The Prodisc C Vivo and Prodisc C SK products were both introduced on a limited basis in late 2022 and have been used in over 8,000 procedures since.

Alex Sielatycki, MD, a surgeon at Steamboat Orthopedic & Spine Institute in Steamboat Springs, Colo., performed the first Prodisc C Nova procedure.

Prodisc C Nova was co-developed by spine surgeon Rudolf Bertagnoli, MD, in Straubing, Germany, and first implanted in Europe in 2009.
