The University of Maryland Medical System partnered with digital platform Gallion to manage high-cost procedures including spine and total joint care, according to a Sept. 23 news release.
Gallion's iHarbor cloud platform improved bill-only transactions, which were previously done manually at the health system. It was implemented in 2021 and has been deployed across UMM's 11 hospitals.
Completion time using the automated system was reduced 75% and the error rate was lowered from 18% to 3%.
