Charlotte Pineda was named vice president of health policy and advocacy for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Ms. Pineda previously worked as health policy director for U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall, MD, of Kansas and is succeeding Katie Orrico in her new role, according to a July 1 news release shared with Becker's.
"The AANS and CNS have been at the forefront in advancing legislative and regulatory policies not only for neurosurgeons but also alongside their partners and coalitions across the health care stakeholder community," Ms. Pineda said in the release. "Medicine is at a unique crossroads at this point in time, facing myriad challenges. I am incredibly honored to lead this talented team in developing and advancing durable policy solutions that help improve patient care."
