Benjamin Burch, MD, became the first surgeon in Mississippi to perform an endoscopic spine procedure, according to an announcement in The Oxford Eagle.
Dr. Burch performed the debut case in December at Oxford (Miss.) Surgery Center. Since then, more than 20 endoscopic spine surgeries have been done at the ASC.
Endoscopic spine surgery uses smaller incisions and can decrease postoperative pain, according to the report.
