Below is a list of 10 spine and orthopedic surgeons who have made a positive impact on their organizations and the specialty.

Gerard Werries, MD. Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (McCandless, Pa.). Dr. Werries is an orthopedic surgeon at Tri-State Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of back and neck injuries and performs complex spinal surgeries. Dr. Werries is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the North American Spine Society. 

Vivek Mohan, MD. Orthopaedic Spine Institute (Hinsdale, Ill.). Dr. Mohan is a spine surgeon at Orthopaedic Spine Institute. He specializes in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine procedures. Dr. Mohan mainly focuses on minimally invasive spine surgeries. 

D'mitri Sofianos, MD. Chatham Orthopaedic Associates (Savannah, Ga.). Dr. Sofianos is a spine consultant at Chatham Orthopaedic Associates. He has clinical interests in cervical and lumbar spine procedures, including disc replacement. Dr. Sofianos also provides care for muscular and skeletal trauma. 

James Dunlap, MD. Kettering (Ohio) Health Brain and Spine. Dr. Dunlap is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Kettering Health Brain and Spine. He is experienced in treating diseases of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Dr. Dunlap also served as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Air Force. 

Eren Kuris, MD. University Orthopedics (East Providence, R.I.). Dr. Kuris is a spine surgeon at University Orthopedics. He is also an assistant professor of orthopedics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, R.I. Dr. Kuris is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.

Keith Feder, MD. West Coast Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine (Manhattan Beach, Calif.). Dr. Feder is an orthopedic surgeon at West Coast Center. He is the medical director for the center's orthopedic surgery and sports medicine department. Dr. Feder is also a clinical assistant professor at the UCLA School of Medicine.  

Edward Kolb, MD. Orthopedics of Illinois (Normal). Dr. Kolb is an orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedics of Illinois. He specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery. Dr. Kolb also provides orthopedic care to the NBA's Chicago Bulls and MLB's Chicago White Sox. 

Edward Mikol, MD. OrthoSC (Myrtle Beach, S.C.). Dr. Mikol is an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoSC. He specializes in sports medicine and joint replacement care. Dr. Mikol is a founding partner for a core OrthoSC orthopedic group.  

Mark Flanum, MD. Orthopedic Physicians Alaska (Anchorage). Dr. Flaum is an orthopedic surgeon at Orthopedic Physicians Alaska. He specializes in both spine surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Flanum was the first surgeon in Alaska to perform the minimally invasive IO flex lumbar decompression procedure.  

Geoffrey Konopka, MD. UT Physicians Orthopedics at Memorial Hermann (Sugar Land, Texas). Dr. Konopka is an orthopedic surgeon at UT Physicians Orthopedics. He specializes in hand and upper extremity surgeries. Dr. Konopka is also an assistant professor in the orthopedic surgery department at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
