The San Francisco Giants' Luis González had surgery to repair a disc in his lower back, The Mercury News reported March 14.
Robert Watkins, MD, who gave Mr. González a second opinion, performed the procedure in Los Angeles, the report said.
Mr. González had issues with his back long before joining the Major League baseball team.
