South Lake Tahoe, Calif.-based Barton Health has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval in spine surgery and knee and hip joint replacement, according to a March 11 report from SouthTahoeNow.
The two-year-long certification is earned through an on-site review of care programs, surgery requirements, data processes, cohesiveness of the clinical team and collaboration.
"This gold seal is a symbol of Barton’s commitment to providing safe, quality care for our patients with excellent care coordination and consistently positive outcomes," Matthew Wonnacott, MD, chief medical officer with Barton Health, told SouthTahoeNow. "With the recent addition of Mako SmartRobotics, the latest technology in joint replacement surgery, our patients gain access to a robust joint replacement program."
