Spine

Here are four hospitals that have expanded spine programs in January:

1. A spine patient at Phoenix-based HonorHealth pledged $21.5 million to develop the Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute at HonorHealth. The center will provide inpatient and outpatient spine, brain and nervous system treatment.

2. Mount Sinai Queens in New York City named Hilarie Tomasiewicz, MD, PhD, as the first site chief of neurosurgery. She's tasked with building a neurosurgical program focused on spine surgery, expanding on procedures offered at Mount Sinai Queens Cerebrovascular Stroke Center.

3. Dr. Tina Raman was tapped to provide spine care at New York City-based NYU Langone's new outpatient practice in the city's Staten Island borough.

4. A joint-venture spine and orthopedic spine hospital opened Jan. 4 at Ascension St. Vincent's Southside campus in Jacksonville, Fla., and an expansion in Georgia is planned for this year.
