A college athlete turned physician and nine more spine surgeons to know:

Justin Bundy, MD. Doctors Hospital (Augusta, Ga.). Dr. Bundy performed Georgia's first augmented reality-assisted spine surgeries with Augmedics' Xvision system in an adult and pediatric patients. His clinical interests include cervical spine surgery, scoliosis and spinal stenosis. 

Ara Deukmedjian, MD. Deuk Spine Institute (Melbourne, Fla.). Dr. Deukmedjian owns and operates his practice, and he has a 95 percent success rate in eliminating pain. He's performed 2,000 cervical decompressive discectomies, more than 1,000 herniated or degenerated discs and more than 300 laser spine surgeries.

Randall Hlubek, MD. Mayfield Brain and Spine (Cincinnati). Dr. Hlubek was exposed to the medical field in high school when he worked with a prosthetics company. He joined Mayfield Brain and Spine in 2019.

Taro Kaibara, MD. Barrow Neurological Institute (Phoenix). Dr. Kaibara received his medical degree from University of Toronto in Canada. At his residency at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine in Canada, he mastered techniques with surgical robots and intraoperative MRIs.

Lori Karol, MD. Children's Hospital Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (Aurora). Dr. Karol is chief of pediatric orthopedic surgery. Her specialties include scoliosis and spinal deformities.

James Lynch, MD. Spine Nevada (Reno). Dr. Lynch has more than 25 years of experience in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. He recently debuted Augmedics' Xvision system with the Perc Pin.

Lynn Miller, DO. Minnesota Disc Replacement & Spine Restoration Center (Edina). Dr. Miller owns and operates Minnesota Disc Replacement & Spine Restoration Center. She previously worked at Midwest Spine & Brain Institute in Stillwater, Minn., and Central Minnesota Neurosciences in Sartell.

James Mok, MD. NorthShore Medical Group (Skokie, Ill.). Dr. Mok is skilled in minimally invasive spine surgery and treats conditions including disc herniation, spinal stenosis and cervical myelopathy. He's a U.S. military veteran.

Ravi Patel, MD. Orlando (Fla.) Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Patel specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery and adult spinal reconstructive surgery. His training includes a spine observership at Peking University Third People's Hospital in China.

Ryan Schnetzer, MD. OrthoGeorgia (Macon). Dr. Schnetzer is certified in minimally invasive robot-assisted surgical techniques. He was a college football player at Athens-based University of Georgia.
