Ben Garrido, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Mooresville, N.C.-based Lake Norman Medical Group.
He specializes in all aspects of adult spine surgery, according to the medical group's website. He received his medical degree at Chicago-based Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Indianapolis-based Indiana University School of Medicine. He also completed two orthopedic spine fellowships at Indianapolis-based Indiana Spine Group and Santiago, Chile-based Hospital del Trabajador.
Dr. Garrido has an interest in minimally invasive techniques, navigation and robotic-assisted techniques. He holds several spine-related patents of his own, and he only considers surgery after non-operative solutions are exhausted.
Dr. Garrido is involved with the Cervical Spine Research Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. He's authored multiple publications and has presented both nationally and internationally.
