Stephen Banco, MD, is a spine surgeon at Wyomissing, Pa.-based Keystone Spine & Pain Management Center.
Dr. Banco has been a practicing orthopedic spine surgeon for 14 years, according to Keystone's website. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College and did his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, all in Philadelphia, according to Keystone's website. He also did a spine surgery residency at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
He's on the editorial review board of Clinical Spine Surgery and recently authored two chapters in The Spine. Dr. Banco has published research in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Spine and Current Opinion in Orthopaedics.
William Cano, MD, director of Pottstown, Pa.-based PMSI Medical Group, provides interventional pain management to Dr. Banco's patients, he said in an email to Becker's Spine Review.
Dr. Cano said Dr. Banco is well-liked by patients and staff, and the outcomes of his work are fantastic. He also spoke about Dr. Banco on a personal level.
"He is affable, polite and caring," Dr. Cano said. "He is a family man and a pillar of the community."
