Dwight Tyndall, MD, is a spine surgeon practicing in Munster and St. John, Ind.
Born in Jamaica, he moved to New York City with his family as a teenager, according to a June 22 profile from The Times of Northwest Indiana.
According to DrSpine.com, Dr. Tyndall specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery and outpatient spine surgery, and is known for his advanced surgical skills. He sits on the editorial board of SpineUniverse.com and has published multiple studies and articles.
Dr. Tyndall told the Times he enjoys solving challenging cases in his work.
"I can close the surgery and go home and not worry about it," he said in the report.
Recently, Dr. Tyndall treated a patient with outpatient surgery on two compressed nerves, the Times reported. The patient said Dr. Tyndall was the first doctor in 20 years who was able to find the problem and fix it, according to the report.
He studied at New York University School of Medicine in New York City and did his residency at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., according to his LinkedIn profile. Dr. Tyndall also did a fellowship in spine surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, biking, reading and spending time with his three children, the Times reported.
