Owoicho Adogwa, MD, is a neurosurgeon and assistant professor in the department of neurological surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Adogwa specializes in the treatment of spinal diseases, with a particular interest in adult and pediatric scoliosis, degenerative spinal pathologies and spinal oncology.
He is a surgeon-scientist with more than 180 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and has served on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, including associated editor of The Spine Journal.
Born in Nigeria, Dr. Adogwa later moved to the U.S. where he earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn.
He completed his neurosurgical residency between Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Adogwa also completed an AO fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery at Rush and another AO fellowship in adult and pediatric scoliosis at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
