Anant Kumar, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Littleton-based Colorado Spine & Scoliosis.
Dr. Kumar specializes in adult degenerative spine surgery, pediatric spine surgery, scoliosis and complex spinal deformity. He received his medical degree from Kurnool (India) Medical College and underwent four fellowships: an orthopedics fellowship at Unterseen, Switzerland-based Spital Interlaken, a pediatric orthopedics fellowship at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Springfield, Mass., a spine surgery fellowship at Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine and an orthopedic trauma surgery fellowship at the Germantown, Tenn.-based Campbell Clinic.
He is a member of the North American Spine Society, Scoliosis Research Society, and the Colorado Medical Society, among other professional organizations. Since 1986, Dr. Kumar has performed orthopedic and spinal surgeries for nonprofit organizations in developing countries and provides volunteer medical services for at least two weeks each year.
