7 medtech notes: Alphatec, Centinel Spine and more

From a new total disc implant and new payer updates, here are seven key updates from spine and orthopedic medtech companies since Oct. 30.

1. Zimmer Biomet reported third-quarter net sales of $1.824 billion, an increase of 4% over the prior year, according to the company's third-quarter financial report.

2. Exactech received 510(k) clearance for its Truliant Porous Tibial Tray, a 3D tibial knee implant.

3. Alphatec reported 27% year-over-year revenue growth in the third quarter of 2024.

4. Time shared its "Best Inventions of 2024" list on Oct. 31, and two spine devices are included — Onward Medical's Arc-Ex spinal cord stimulator and Northwell Health's double neural bypass technology.

5. Spinelogik sued Camber Spine alleging the Spira-C integrated fixation system infringes a patent covering technology for spinal fusions. 

6. Centinel Spine completed the first U.S. implantation of its Prodisc C Nova cervical total disc replacement product, the fourth design addition to its Prodisc line. 

7. SI-Bone received CMS' Transitional Pass-Through payment status for the iFuse Bedrock Granite system.
