Massimo Calafiore was recently named as CEO of Orthofix, replacing an interim leader installed in September. Here are four things to know about him:
1. Mr. Calafiore has an extensive career in spine and orthopedic medtech. He was last CEO of LimaCorporate, which is slated to be acquired by Enovis.
2. He was executive vice president and chief commercial officer at NuVasive where he helped deliver consecutive quarter-over-quarter growth. Mr. Calafiore left that role in 2022.
3. Mr. Calafiore earned his MBA from New York University in New York City and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Catania in Italy, according to his LinkedIn profile.
4. Mr. Calafiore held various leadership positions at Waldemar Link before joining NuVasive. Those roles include CEO of LinkSpine, business development leader and president for Link Orthopaedics and president and CEO of Cervitech.
