Surgalign and Accelus both sold parts of their spine business in recent months Here's what to know about each transaction:
1. Surgalign sold its Coflex product line to Xtant Medical for $17 million. The acquisition strengthens Xtant's offerings and supports Surgalign's balance sheet as it focuses on digital health. Surgalign is honing in on its Holo spine guidance system and Holo AI platform.
2. Accelus sold its Remi robotic spine system to Alphatec for $55 million. Remi uses 3D scans or 2D images to help guide spine surgeons during procedures. Under Alphatec's hands, Remi will integrate wth the company's SafeOp and EOS systems.
