Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark., is the first in the region to use the Zimmer Biomet Rosa hip system.
The robot aids surgeons during minimally invasive surgery by providing an optimized view of the patient's hip, increasing accuracy and precision, according to a March 15 news release.
Kris Hanby, MD, medical director of Washington Regional's Total Joint Center, said the system will reduce recovery time and pain following the surgery.
