Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, Mo., has become the first healthcare system in the region to add a Mako robot for hip and knee replacement surgeries, according to a Jan. 10 report from Ozark Radio News.
With robotic-assisted joint replacements, patients experience more predictable procedures, less pain, improved knee use, less blood loss and shorter hospital stays.
"We are proud to be the first healthcare system to offer this highly advanced SmartRobotics technology in our area," Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare president and CEO, told Ozark Radio News. "This addition to our orthopedic service line further demonstrates our commitment to provide the community with outstanding healthcare."
