Orthopedic

Dror Paley, MD, of the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, is expected to complete the world's first case with the Precice Max system from NuVasive on Feb. 27.

The Precice Max system earned FDA approval in December and is indicated for limb lengthening, fracture fixation, and bone transport of long bone in adults, according to a Feb. 20 news release. Dr. Paley has been involved in the development of the Precice intra medullary limb-lengthening system and has implanted more than 4,000 Precice nails.

"This advancement will enable stature lengthening patients to bear full weight throughout their lengthening and consolidation process," Dr. Paley said in the release. "It reflects my continued efforts, spanning 37 years, to improving the lives of those undergoing this life-changing procedure."
